the name for this one is very much still under debate. But, the fic itself has been a WIP for quite a few months, actually. This one, Overtime, and a few other WIPs were churned in the same time frame of each other, we just got really busy and couldn't work on them.

'Obediant' Soldier is heavily inspired off of a content creator Sebastián and I love over on TikTok. Gay Guy Gabe, we love his content so much and he has been one of our many pools of inspiration. It's specifically from the video he did to the sound of "good little girl, always picking a fight with me(+)" about Zeb commenting on how in Kallus eyes (beginning of Bahryn), he's "bad", and yet he's safe with him. The short skit inspired this.

We have about 2.5 scenes written out for this one so far and it'll have about a total of 5 or 6. Planned.

Its about Zeb noticing that Kallus tends to be... a bit different when he's around him than when he's around his 'precious' empire. This fic starts during The Honorable Ones, then continues through Kallus’s disillusionment, and is set to end some point around him becoming fulcrum. It's mostly just Zeb being a bit smug about the fact that cold, tense, sharp agent tends to be more at ease around a rebel than his own men. It's not one of our more serious works, it's taking a much more lighthearted tone to things. It's about the beginning stages of Kallus and Zeb moving from enemies/temporary allies to allies/friends (maybe some mutual pining will be thrown in.)

Wow, I'm honored to be one of your comfort blogs. 🥹🥹 I really appreciate you saying that mine feels like a "safe space" because that's exactly what I've tried to do. I'm truly grateful people who read my writing and interact with me on here. Like you, a lot of them have become mutuals and lovely friends. 💕

I talk to some people on here on a weekly basis now, and tbh those connections have not only fueled my creativity to keep writing, but have also just made me happier as a person. Or like you, they've gotten me through the hard times I've gone through this year. (I do reread comments and reblogs btw -- yours have never failed to make me smile. 🥰)

Oh God lol. Like I said, I've had a rough year personally. But in 3 words?

Exhausting. Painful. Creative.

I've been mentally, physically, emotionally exhausted for the better part of 9 months. I've been in physical pain and discomfort for much of that time and have had 2 surgical procedures, countless doctor visits, and too many life changes to list.

But through all of that, I feel like I've also done some of my most creative writing in 2023-2024 than ever before, including starting a Patreon, and dipping back into writing the fantasy romance novel I've been working on since grad school. Use the pain, I guess. 😅

#7. comfort character to create for

It's changed over the years depending on my fixations, but right now (and for the past 2 years), it's definitely Dean freakin' Winchester.

Break Me Down (Soldier Boy x Reader): Their son's first birthday, with a flashback to their wedding day.

Unravel Me (Soldier Boy x POC!Reader): The prequel series to Lost in Translation, in which Ben meets the reader (afro Latina).

Every Second Counts (Russell Shaw x Reader): Can Russell make good on his promise to "get out" and start his brewery? (AKA: his past comes knocking, and might just put the reader in danger. Diving deeper into the Shaw family history too.)

Take Me Home (Beau Arlen x Reader): @luci-in-trenchcoats put the idea of Beau and the reader from this series getting married into my head, and I feel like it would be a fun and somewhat angsty road to get there lol.

We're grateful to all our contributors - both old and new - for the love and enthusiasm you've shown us so far and hope to see more in store today as well!!

Day 5 is all about the relationships!! Whether familial, platonic or romantic, Hana gives each one her all 🩷 She is also someone who is attempting to learn a new normal - how to continue loving others while also taking care of herself! This is a chance to explore Hana's connections with other people, whether in canon or your OCs, and explore her unique way of navigating them!!

LOL KEEP THEM COMING! Gives me something to do since my students haven't shown up yet. 😂 Okay going over to The Twelve Transformations of Bilbo Baggins for this set.

7. What is your favorite scene you have written so far?

Okay so this used to be the firefly scene! I absolutely adored writing Baby Bilbo and Thorin having that conversation about fireflies in their respective families and cultures. But...I think I just wrote a scene in this next chapter that tops it.

“And what is my life without you in it?!”

Bilbo felt his breath hitch at those words. Partly due to the sheer romanticism of the sentiment, but mostly because a thought occurred to him. His life was limited if he did not choose a transformation. In just a few short cycles, he would be nothing but dust on the wind. Was a dwarf’s One truly that vital to them? Could Thorin not go on to be the king he deserved to be because heartache would drag him down into a lifeless husk? Bilbo had to hope that wasn’t true. He had to believe that the love of his nephews, his company, his people would be enough for him to carry on in Bilbo’s absence and that Thorin was merely being dramatic at the moment.

It was so hard though. Especially with Thorin’s piercing blue eyes boring into him, demanding from Bilbo. Demanding his attention. Demanding his understanding. Demanding a promise to never act so rashly again. And damn him that it was on the tip of Bilbo’s tongue to grant it all to him. To give himself over to the worry and misplaced protection and cuddle himself up in Thorin’s arms to never emerge. Yet, Bilbo’s pride was a curious thing. Nowhere on par with what he has seen from this Son of Durin, but enough for him to push back. To be argumentative for the sake of argumentative. And Bilbo has never hated a trait about himself more.

“Yet, in a few short days, you send me to the den of a dragon.” He hissed, very careful to keep their words between them. “You don’t get to demand my life and offer my sacrifice in the same breath.”

9. What is your favorite line of dialogue so far?

You know what? We're going back to that firefly scene. 😆

“You know, I never liked the dark.” He admitted. “I could make up so many monsters that had somehow appeared in dark corners. So when I was little, my mum and I used to spend the evening catching lightning bugs and putting them in a jar. We would then place the jar next to my bed before I went to sleep, and the glow would comfort me. However, I’d always wake up the next morning…and they’d be gone! I figured out later in life, my mum would come in and let them out through the window. Much too kind to let them die overnight, but… I always just thought they turned into dreams.”

Thorin hummed appreciatively, and Bilbo thought that may be the end of share time when the dwarf opened his mouth once more.

“We didn’t have fireflies, as my people call them, inside the mountain when I was a pebble. But we had glow worms that would cling to the stalactites in the deep caverns. Their light was more blue than green. Still after Smaug came, and we were spending so many nights camped out under the stars, I would see the fireflies and think…the glow worms sprouted wings and followed after us. Because even they couldn’t stand us not being back in our mountain home.”

This may in fact be my favorite scene/lines that I've every written EVER.

Bilbo couldn’t help but give him a wide grin. There was something about the way Thorin never truly relented. Even on the idea of retaking Erebor, that managed to fill Bilbo’s heart up with hope. He made Bilbo want to be braver. 

“Well then, let’s kick out your dragon, then.”

“Well, there’s a bit of a snafu to handle, Malcolm, Hoshi.”

“What kind of a ‘snafu’, sir?” Hoshi’s spidey senses were beginning to tingle.

Archer coughed, looking a bit embarrassed. “It seems that when you were doing the 'rehearsal’, the officiant actually went through the entire [redacted] ritual. So you are, in fact, married by [redacted] law.”

Malcolm stood, stunned, unable to speak. Hoshi went pale, then flushed, then pale again.

“I’ll leave you two to talk it out,” Archer said hastily, and practically ran from the room.

"Look," said Janelle, "we have to have a name that slays, right? We can have the best individual names, but the scoring is based on the team, and we want our team name to be memorable."

A chorus of agreements went up from the larger group, and Hoshi nodded thoughtfully. 

"Okay," she said, "suggestions?"

"Space Furies!" cried one.

"Warp Factor!" came another voice.

"We could call ourselves Percussive Maintenance!" called Anna.

"Nah, we're not all engineers!" Esk groused. 

"Okay, smart mouth, what's your suggestion?" asked Anna.

Esk thought for a moment, then grinned. "The Enter-Preys," she said smugly. 

"I'll put it on the list," said Hoshi. "Keep 'em coming!"

"The Shuttle-Bodyslams," Anna piped up again. "Get it? Instead of Shuttle-Pod?" The group gave a collective groan and she smirked smugly.

"How about the Fed-Array-Shins?" suggested Liz. Hoshi added it to the list.

"Anything else?" she asked. 

"The NX-Oh-Wons," Janelle said thoughtfully.

"They can all go on the list," said Hoshi, "and we can take a vote."

He was bitterly aware that Captain Archer and the bridge crew were watching from the sidelines, hoping to see their Enterprise team make a good showing. And here he was, letting down the side with an inglorious effort. The humiliation stung, and Hayes being almost cloyingly magnanimous as Malcolm and his team faced yet another defeat, was not to be borne. 

Then Hayes added, “And it must be stressful, being taken down every time. Combat isn’t for everyone,” and Malcolm decided that the other man would have to die. He wasn’t sure exactly how, but it would happen right now, if he had anything to say about it.

This one's from Learning The Ropes:

“I- um, I … I broke my company commander’s arm and got thrown out of Starfleet,” she mumbled. “They let me back in on probation because they needed linguists.”

There was a momentary silence. 

“You ��� broke your commander’s arm … and got thrown out of Starfleet?” the lieutenant repeated slowly, as if feeling out the words. Her face aflame, Hoshi nodded, feeling a fool. “May I ask why?”

“I, er, I was running a poker game and he didn’t like that and tried to stop me.” Her nose wrinkled. “It’s not like I was breaking the rules either,” she said in an aggrieved tone. “I made sure to only do it on weekends and not during duty hours. I think he was just angry that I wouldn’t let him join.” She glared mutinously at the phase pistols, as if they were the direct cause of her past predicament.

A choked splutter from the direction of Lieutenant Reed startled her into remembering where she was. When she looked up, the armoury officer was coughing into his elbow, most of his face covered. His eyes met hers, and his coughing fit seemed to worsen. 

“Sir! Are you okay?” Hoshi asked worriedly, rounding the table to check on him. “Can I get you some water?”

“No, no, Ensign, I’m fine,” the lieutenant said in a strangled voice, waving her off. “Just got something in my throat, that’s all.” He emerged from behind his arm, a touch red in the face.

i've come to the realization that i posted exactly One (1) thing ab kinktober a few weeks ago and then never said anything ab it again.. oops. ima be honest i kinda forgot..

i will finish organizing and have something resembling a masterlist for the month up here in the next few days. it may change as the month progresses, depending on what my work schedule looks like, but i will hopefully be able to stay on track and actually post real content 🫡

i'm also hoping to start getting some one shots up that i've been working on, but those will likely go up starting in november, cross-posted on both tumblr and ao3. i have a few half-finished things i've been playing around with and getting feedback from friends on.

ALSO per my chaptered fic ideas:

typically i wait until i have the whole thing almost finished before i do much else with it, however i'm anxious to get things posted sooner rather than later. i know i've gained quite a few followers thru my little peeks at bts of several wips. i've been posted snippets on and off for a while now without actually giving any real content... and honestly i feel really bad ab it. i appreciate the traction i've gotten on this app and i really do want to give everyone what they came here for, despite how i may feel ab putting things out there right now.

i have a few wips that are making decent progress. i have a handle of first chapters almost completed. i MAY start posting them here in the near future, mainly with fics i already have fully plotted out. the others are still being worked out plot wise and i don't trust myself to stick w original ideas enough to post them anytime soon, but i may be able to get first chapters of secrets, stepdads, and daycare out once i'm satisfied with where they wrap up.

all this being said, my work schedule lately has been super fucked up. everything is a big mess and there's little consistency in anything. by the time i get home, i'm completely drained and usually go straight to bed just to get up and do it all again the next morning. we're severely understaffed and the owners are expecting those of us on day shift to pick up evening shift's slack every single time (as if we're not already there all day doing our jobs AND theirs, they expect us to do it on days we're supposed to be off). it also doesn't help that i'm still living w my parents in a sort of toxic environment and desperately trying to get out.

thankfully, things should be getting smoothed out soon. i'm hoping to make more progress on writing and getting things posted as soon as possible. i promise i'm trying. if you've stuck around this long, thank you. i truly appreciate all of you.

We have crossed the midway mark for our week! There are only two days left, and we're immensely excited with all the wonderful work our Hana fans have put up so far and can't wait to see what's next!

Day 4 is packed with not one, not two, but three themes!

First up is Competitive Hana! One of the most delightful aspects of her growth is the joy she shows in expressing competitiveness and being a tough player. People both in canon and the fandom may fool themselves into viewing her as passive, but seeing her play or pit herself against an opponent tells us a whole different story altogether!!

We also have Music, a favourite among our community of Hana lovers who fondly remember her passion for music (especially the piano).

There's also Culinary Love! Whether it is her happy dance when she dips fries into milkshake, or how she revels in the symbolism of French pastries, or the way she gleefully shows the MC her favourite hot chocolate recipe, food has always had an important and delightful part of Hana's life. We'd love to see how you explore her relationship with food!!
